42 km Classic – Medical and Pharmacy World Championships

42 km Classic Technique · Sunday, 07 February 2027

27th WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR DOCTORS & PHARMACISTS (WMCC)

Swimming, cycling and running are among the healthiest forms of preventive exercise during the summer months. In winter, cross-country skiing undoubtedly takes this role. For this reason, the former International Medical Triathlon Association (IMTA) decided to establish a World Championship in cross-country skiing for doctors and pharmacists alongside its international championships in triathlon and duathlon.
In 2016, the IMTA transitioned into the TVDÄ, the Triathlon Association of German Doctors and Pharmacists. All licensed doctors and pharmacists are eligible to compete in the championship classification.
Students currently enrolled in medicine or pharmacy programmes are also eligible to participate. In addition to the sporting programme, a sports medicine symposium will take place on Saturday, 06 February 2027.
All participants in the WMCC World Championship will automatically also be included in the König Ludwig Lauf classification according to their respective age groups, which are divided into five-year categories. The age-group classifications for both the WMCC Championship and the König Ludwig Lauf are based on the DWO regulations.
Doctors and pharmacists automatically start in the first starting group. Elite athletes start separately.
The award ceremony for World Championship participants, including the presentation of prizes by age category, will take place as part of the symposium.
