If there is a qualification from the König Ludwig Lauf, this is relevant and proof of performance from other cross-country skiing races cannot be taken into account for the classification in this case. First-time participants can divide themselves into starting block 2 and starting block 3. First-time participants who provide proof of performance can also be placed in starting block 1. The number of people per starting block is limited. If a starting block is full at the time of registration, the next free starting block will be assigned. The elite starting block is reserved for squads or national runners and is assigned according to FIS points or Worldloppet ranking.

Participants who have registered for the 21 km can shorten the race in Mühlwald (Ettal) after 5 km and will be listed in the 10 km results list. Runners registered for the 42 km must finish the race in Oberammergau and cannot shorten the race.
