By car
Munich: via the A95 to the end of the motorway and on to Oberau. Here you turn right towards Augsburg. After passing the Ettaler Berg, you reach Ettal – the southern gateway to the Ammergau Alps Nature Park
A7: via Seeg, Roßhaupten, Leckbruck to Steingaden. Then towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen via the B23 to Bad Bayersoien in the north of the Ammergau Alps Nature Park
Füssen: Here you take the path via Steingaden. Then towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen via the B23 to Bad Bayersoien in the north of the nature park
Innsbruck: here direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen, then follow the signs to A95 / Munich. In Oberau turn left towards Augsburg. After passing the Ettaler Berg, you reach Ettal – the southern gateway to the Ammergau Alps Nature Park
By bus/train
The Ammergau Alps can be easily reached by train from Munich. In Murnau you board the regional train (Ammertalbahn) and, after a journey that offers fantastic views of the Alps, you reach the towns of Bad Kohlgrub, Saulgrub, Altenau, Unterammergau and Oberammergau.
From Innsbruck take the train via Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Oberau. Here you change to the regional buses towards Füssen.
You will receive your electronic guest card from landlords who offer free bus travel. With this you can use all regional buses in the Ammergau Alps without paying a cent and move around the region comfortably without the hassle of parking.
